A Landmark Weekend for Like Minded Management: Two #1 Projects and a World Premiere
It was an extraordinary weekend for the composers of Like Minded Management, with two projects reaching #1 across major streaming platforms and a new orchestral work receiving its world premiere in Cincinnati.
Yair Elazar Glotman's The Last House reached #1 on Netflix, following its global premiere on August 7. Directed by Louis Leterrier and starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, the film features an original score by Glotman that brings together his distinctive voice as a composer and recording artist with the scale of a major orchestral film score.
For The Last House, Glotman recorded a full orchestra at AIR Studios in London while creating a musical world that moves between intimate string textures and expansive orchestral writing. The project represents an important new chapter in his career and the continued evolution of a musical voice he has developed across film, contemporary classical music, and his work as an artist.
Meanwhile, Prime Video's Sterling Point reached #1, featuring an original score by Jaco Caraco and Tyler Hilton. Created and directed by Megan Park, the series marks another major project for the composing team and introduces their music to audiences around the world.
Seeing both projects reach the top of their respective platforms during the same weekend is an especially meaningful moment for Like Minded Management. Developing composers and helping singular musical voices grow into major film and television careers has always been central to what we do.
But the weekend wasn't limited to the screen.
On Saturday evening in Cincinnati, Chanda Dancy celebrated the world premiere of her newly commissioned orchestral work as part of Summermusik and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra's The Soundtrack of America.
Dancy was one of five internationally recognized composers commissioned for Visions of Humanity and Unity, a new work created to explore different perspectives on the American experience through music.
For Dancy, who was born in Cleveland and still has family in Ohio, the premiere also marked her Cincinnati debut and something of a homecoming.
Her contribution explores what she describes as the "hope, longing and boundless optimism of the American spirit," bringing the orchestral foundation that first shaped her as a composer together with the cinematic storytelling that has become a hallmark of her career.
From a #1 Netflix film and a #1 Prime Video series to the world premiere of a new concert work, this weekend represented three very different expressions of what makes each of these composers special.
