Emmy nominated composer Chanda Dancy has scored Rolling Loud: The Movie, the upcoming comedy written and directed by Jeremy Garelick.
Set against the world of the iconic hip hop festival, Rolling Loud: The Movie follows a dad who sneaks his 13 year old son into the festival, setting off a chaotic adventure through crowds, backstage mayhem, and the high energy world of live music. The film stars Owen Wilson, Matt Rife, Christine Ko, Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign, Ski Mask the Slump God, Henry Winkler, Christian Convery, Jolene, and Travis Scott.
For Dancy, the project adds another dynamic entry to a rapidly expanding body of work across film, television, and concert music. Known for the emotional force and orchestral depth of her scores, Dancy brings her distinctive musical voice to a comedy rooted in hip hop culture, family chaos, and the massive scale of one of the world’s most recognizable music festivals.
Dancy’s recent work includes Blink Twice, Devotion, One of Them Days, I Know What You Did Last Summer, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves, for which she received a 2024 Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special.
Rolling Loud: The Movie arrives in theaters nationwide on October 2.
