Catherine Joy

Catherine Joy is a Tasmanian composer working in Hollywood. She's received multiple awards including best score for documentary Gold Balls and short narrative Chimera, and the SCL David Raksin Emerging Talent award for Home Is A Hotel.

She has scored many documentaries and features including a number of Romantic Comedies for Reel One Entertainment & Studio TF1, two thrillers for Lifetime, and two documentaries - Home Is A Hotel and Women In The Front Seat - which are currently screening on PBS. One of her favorite projects to date was scoring a Sesame Street Letter segment.

Catherine is the founder and Lead Composer of Joy Music House, a full-service Score Production company. She was also the Live Score Producer and Lead Orchestrator on many Film and TV projects including the scores for the Oscar-nominated Minari and the Emmy-winning Wild Wild Country.

Catherine is the past President of the AWFC, on the board of directors for the SCL, PGEC for the Television Academy Music Branch and Adjunct Faculty for the NYU Screen Scoring Masters program.
